I wanted to take a moment to chat with
Elena about a recent christening we worked on together, exploring her sources of inspiration and gathering some styling tips for creating unique and memorable experiences. Here's what she shared with me.
How do you work with your clients to choose the perfect colour palette and style for a christening?
Selecting the right colour palette for a client's event revolves around grasping their vision for their celebration. This includes enquiring about their favourite colours as well as those they prefer to avoid. Additionally, I draw inspiration from the season and venue which are crucial factors in the colour selection process. My goal is to help clients create an event that not only reflects their personal style but also enhances the beauty of the venue.
What are some popular themes or design elements you’ve seen in christenings, and how do you keep them fresh and unique?
Bows are definitely in vogue! However, I lean towards designing something that stands out, adding a personal touch that truly reflects the client's vision. If a client requests a trendy item to be included in their event, we strive to integrate it in a way that enhances the overall experience.
What styling tips do you have for transforming a simple venue into a styled space for a christening?
I take inspiration from the venue and its environment. Using that as a foundation, I create a tablescape that includes fresh, quality flowers, candles to illuminate the space, a coloured napkin, and elegant stationery to unify the design. These four components not only add colour but also create a warm and unforgettable ambiance that beautifully enhances the venue.
What are your favourite design trends for christening stationery, from colour palettes to typography styles?
Personally, I am especially drawn to elegant and whimsical stationery, such as delicate paper butterflies as place cards, featuring soft hues and gentle typography.
